`Iliahi Tree – Keiki Donor

$50.00

The `Iliahi Tree or Hawaiian Sandalwood is a species of flowering tree that is endemic to Hawai`i. ‘Iliahi is revered as a valuable plant for its medicinal properties. It is used all over the world most commonly as an oil or incense. This almost lost species is very important to the habitat here in the islands. With careful restoration the sandalwood tree will one day be plentiful. Help to reforest Hawai`i by planting an `Iliahi Tree. If you are interested in sponsoring the planting of the tree and receiving the certificate with GPS coordinates please go to our Makua donor.

We appreciate your support as this is a tax deductible donation through the non-profit, Saving Hawai’i’s Forests 501 (c)(3).

‘Iliahi Tree Cultivation Sponsorship – Keiki (Child) Donor

Sponsorship of planting an ‘Iliahi tree

• ‘Iliahi (Hawaiian Sandalwood) cultivation of seedling for planting
• Site Preparation for the planting of a seedling
• Emailed Certificate of planting

This level of sponsorship sponsors the cultivation of seedling in the greenhouse. Preparing the land for the trees planting is vital for the seedlings survival. The ground needs to cleared of invasive grasses and weeds. An auger is used to break up the soil and prepare the land for planting. Each tree is placed in a precise grid, 15 feet apart from each other ensuring a long life and successful growth. We encounter a unique situation with the `Iliahi, being a nitrogen dependent species, the `Iliahi grid will require a partner tree be planted within 3 feet. We utilize Koa, A’alii or Māmane as a host. We appreciate your support as this tax deductible donation through the non-profit, Saving Hawai’i’s Forests 501 (c)(3). If you would like a certificate mailed please select Makua Donor level of sponsorship.
